Job Description

Cash Processing and Funds Transfer - IC1 Monitors client payments, daily cash and wire transactions, and acts as a first line of defense by addressing flags raised by transaction system. Manages the daily processing of cash movements by bank clients and confirm validity of transactions with manager in cash processing and relationship managers with connection to clients. Confirms wire instructions and receipt from clients and inputs transactions into appropriate systems. Supports more senior cash processing associates with booking trades and confirming outgoing wire transactions with receivers. Monitors systems to catch flags on transactions without receipts or any mismatches, addresses items that failed first round inspection by transaction systems. Acts as point of contact for clients and wire recipients and addresses inquiries and concerns about the transfer process. No direct reports. May have people management responsibilities in some geographies. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.  

Electronic Service Operations (ESO) supports file based electronic payment initiation and reporting using industry standard formats for BNY Mellon external (primarily large corporates and bank and non-bank financials) and internal clients including other departments such as AIS and Corporate Treasury. The group is responsible for managing and controlling high levels of risk and liability inherent in the automated payment and reporting functionality they provide. The applicant will be expected to support new customer setups across multiple formats and on multiple platforms, including Unix, IBM Mainframe, and PC/LAN which is the primary method by which this department generates revenue for the company.


Setups can be for various payment standards/methodologies including, Wire Transfer, ACH, Treasury Edge, BAI, XML and EDI X12. S/he will be required to maintain appropriate documentation for all customer setup and/or change requests, resolve any exceptions that may arise by actively using procedures, process flows and technical knowledge with minimal assistance and in accordance to established policies and procedures.  The candidate will also be asked to work on small-to-medium individual projects. S/he should possess knowledge of overall online transaction processing, be able to pinpoint problems using various payment frameworks, and communicate issues and impacts to management.


Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 0-3 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in financial services operations preferred.
