The Hybrid Wholesaler plays a key within BNY Mellon Investment Management.  Working in close partnership with the External Wholesaler(s), the Hybrid Wholesaler works to develop and maintain meaningful client relationships with financial advisors at wirehouses and regional and independent broker/dealers in a geographic territory for the purpose of acquiring and retaining mutual fund and other professionally managed assets as well as evaluating potential sale and cross sale opportunities.

 

 

The Hybrid Wholesaler must have an understanding of and passion for the sales process, as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills.  He or she must also have excellent organizational and follow up skills, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.  Moreover, the Hybrid Wholesaler must demonstrate professional presence, poise, strong presentation skills, and a high level of energy and motivation. At this level, he/she must demonstrate an experienced ability to independently prospect a segment of the territory, conduct client presentations, and represent the firm at conferences and events. 

 

 

 

The incumbent will:

  • Initiate and maintain sales and service relationship with broker/consultants. Point of contact with brokers, financial consultants, banks, and planners to maximize sales.
  • Recruiting and maximizing new business prospects: Create and maintain a list of prospects and clients in given territory (where accountable for revenue generation); Demonstrate strong knowledge of our products and multi boutique strategy.

  • Provide support to Wholesaler/Regional Sales Representative covering specific geographical territory.

  • Increased travel responsibility.

  • Represent our firm at conferences and events.

  • “own” a prospecting segment of the territory.

  • Conduct client presentations (demonstrate a mastery of presentation skills).

  • This level demonstrates highest levels of execution of the fundamental skills for the department and acts as a role model in the team.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

BA /BS or equivalent required. 2 years of prior financial industry sales or marketing experience required. FINRA Series 7 and 63 required (or must be obtained within 90 days). Some travel required.
