Sr. Specialist Developer - Qlikview/Qliksense

Job Description

Candidate is responsible for the design, development, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of our online reports/dashboards to satisfy the requirements of one or more user areas. This role includes hands-on new development as well as support, maintenance, or enhancements of existing applications, reports, and dashboards. The person will work closely with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations.


This role is responsible for contributing to our report development and support within the java-based vendor product.  This individual will work with project stakeholders and business analysts to design, develop, and maintain analytical reporting for our technology senior management using various tools on-hand.



  • Engage with Analysts for understanding platform requirements.
  • Develop software artifacts using Agile methodology.
  • Work in accordance with the team’s Working Agreement.
  • Escalate open issues to management for timely resolution.
  • Strong SQL Skills.
  • Experience with various BI Tools:
    • Tableau
    • Qlik Sense
    • QlikView
    • Power BI
    • Jaspersoft
  • Should be comfortable with the following technology stack, tools and processes:
    • JSP development experience
    • object oriented programming concepts
    • functional programming concepts
    • spring, spring boot
    • hibernate, RDBMS, SQL (Oracle),
    • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular

Sr. Specialist Developer->> Consults with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support. Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology. Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications. Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. Contributes to defining time tables and project plans. Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. Takes lead for establishing, implementing and monitoring 'best practices' for technical development methodologies and tools. Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives. Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, 8-10 years of experience in software development required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
