Technology Enterprise Change & Resiliency, in Technology’s Office of the CIO, plays a key role in establishing enterprise change policy and standards and providing air traffic control to achieve integrated change where necessary to manage the risk of change.
This position is part of an expansion of BNY Mellon’s Technology Governance of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. The individual will have the opportunity to engage with people globally in the business areas, risk, audit, and multiple technology disciplines. The individual will aid the organization in the optimization of procedures and governance in this space. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with senior leadership in technology and partner groups as well.
Sr. Principal Recovery Analyst will:
Lead and drive drive planning, scope, scenario analysis, capability, and execution in IT Disaster recovery efforts. Specifically:
Uses expertise to lead, develop, implement and maintain processes to ensure continual operations in the event of disaster or interruption of information processing services.
Consults with senior management throughout the organization on the recovery process. Structures and monitors activities based upon approved project methodologies.
Collects and analyzes project data and produces progress reports.
Defines standards, processes and procedures to be used in the recovery from a disaster or an extended interruption of information processing services.
Assists in defining the overall strategy to be used in the disaster recovery process. Serves as subject matter expert in evaluating and selecting disaster recovery tools, equipment and alternative recovery sites.
Assists in the development of contractual agreements with recovery vendors for all entities of the corporation.
Works with business units to develop and ensure effective business recovery plans that allow critical business functions to be resumed within defined timetables and acceptable risk factors.
Educates users on the corporation s business recovery planning software and recovery methodology.
Keeps abreast of industry-related disaster recovery processes and evaluating the effectiveness of implementing changes to existing practices.
Contributes to the achievement of IS Disaster/ Business Continuation objectives.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree or CBCP certification is beneficial, 12+ years of experience in business/disaster recovery required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
