Job Description

BNY Mellon Investment Management, which is the umbrella name for all the investment management subsidiaries and affiliates within BNY Mellon, currently has a presence in 5 countries in Asia Pacific, namely Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Korea and Australia.  The company also targets and services clients and distribution channels in other Asia Pacific countries (e.g. China, Taiwan).

 

The Southeast Asian Institutional Sales Team is looking for a candidate to join as (Senior) Associate – Institutional Sales/ Sales Support. The primary aim of this role is to provide support in servicing Southeast Asian Institutional clients/accounts – supporting the team in attending to sales administration and other sales/client related servicing activities. The role is for those interested in institutional investment sales/marketing and client service, with the key objective to further enhance client relationships in the region and to maximize account and asset retention.

This position is based in Singapore.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sales and client support- ensuring timely and efficient responses to client queries

  • Increase effectiveness of sales and client servicing within the Southeast Asian team – to help develop this further

  • Involved in preparation of client deliverables – presentations, sales materials, reports etc

  • Assist in business development opportunities - Identify/Analyze new business, client segments for opportunities and run competitive analyses

  • Participation in sales meetings and business/conference calls

  • Collaborate and liase with internal stakeholders to meet and address client deliverables – such as Legal, Compliance, Analysts, Portfolio Specialists and related subsidiaries

  • Assist in providing solutions to client issues

  • Assist in account opening, KYC/AML, due diligence queries and checks

  • Assist in RFPs/RFIs and tender submissions

  • Coordination and participation in marketing activities, including client seminars and client visits – travel may be required from time to time

  • Assist in ensuring client information and sales databases are updated

  • Assist in ensuring internal and external regulatory requirements for sales in the region are met

  • Involved in maintaining spreadsheets, building business reports, etc

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree holder (Business or Finance related) and have at least 3-5 years’ experience in Asset Management industry- preferably involved in Southeast Asian markets

  • Dynamic, outgoing personality, and good interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills- an Asian language skill is a bonus

  • Well, organized, pro-active

  • Good knowledge about investments and some market data services knowledge

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft office: Word, excel, power point and any experience in Salesforce would be advantageous
