Virtual Desktop Platform Engineer
The APAC Technology group are seeking to hire an experienced Virtual Desktop Citrix Infrastructure engineer to join our Workplace Technology Services (WTS) team. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the workplace technology and virtual desktop environment within the APAC region as part of the Technology Platforms team, working closely with regional and global technology teams to ensure the effective delivery of workplace services to the Asia Pacific lines of business. You will be primarily responsible for the delivery of operations and support services for the Workplace Technology Infrastructure to align with global engineering standards, plus process/procedural documentation and incident troubleshooting. Operational responsibilities spans multiple data centers regionally and globally. Responsibilities also extends to assessing the current workplace technology & virtual desktop infrastructure within the region and you will be expected and encouraged to make recommendations for management, administration, process, service and operational improvements.
Minimum 5+ years of relevant technical skills and experience managing Citrix systems.
Take a leading regional responsibility for workplace technology, project delivery and all control functions within the APAC WTS estate, including: technical projects, deployment & delivery for virtual desktop infrastructure engineering disciplines.
Manage multiple initiatives that further transform and optimize the WTS environment, being accountable for the successful delivery of new initiatives and ensuring they are on time and within agreed budget.
Being the driving force for all VDS engineering activities within the APAC WTS estate.
Communicating and collaborating with key global technology teams, ensuring that best practices and standards are agreed at a global level and deployed regionally for all WTS initiatives.
Proficient in business and technical communications both written and verbal.
Understands and is able to articulate technical subject matter expertise to general audiences.
Works closely with release and deployment activities providing guidance and oversight, demonstrating drive and capability to deliver assured, reliable installations and migrations with zero unplanned downtime and minimal service impact.
As a technical expert, demonstrate an in-depth view of the workplace platform/VDS infrastructure, providing direction and feedback in the evaluation and amendment of documented deployment configurations and operational guidelines.
Demonstrate the ability to lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, managing the service to support the Incident/Problem Manager, the Technology Service owner and deliver a quality operation to the consumers of Workplace Technology Platform Services.
Provide knowledge transfer and technical training to other team members to elevate and improve their technical knowledge and application of skills across the range of relevant services.

Experience working within an operations team for a large organization
Experience troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
Experience supporting end user workstation and operating systems
Experience supporting VDI systems and users
Experience and knowledge of Change, Incident and Problem Management Systems
Ability to own and solve issues as they arise and incident ownership until resolution
Ability to be a self-starter and get up to speed on BNY Mellon systems quickly
Skill Set /Experience Requirements:
Solid understanding of all components within Citrix XenDesktop 7.15 FMA
Thorough experience managing and troubleshooting Citrix XenDesktop 7.15 components
Good experience managing and troubleshooting Citrix NetScaler, MPX and SDX
Hands on experience managing and troubleshooting end user devices with Citrix Receiver installed or thin clients including RealTime Optimization Pack, Media Engine and Connector
Hands on experience managing and troubleshooting Windows 10 within a VDI environment
Hands on experience managing and troubleshooting MS SCCM including package deployment
Microsoft Hyper-V hands on experience managing and troubleshooting
Experience troubleshooting basic networking, connectivity, and performance issues related to VDI
Experience troubleshooting storage systems and performance as related to VDI
Excellent communication, relationship management and logical reasoning skills.
- PowerShell scripting knowledge and experience
- ITIL (Best practice processes, service support and service delivery disciplines)
- Virtualization hypervisors VMWare ESX SRM, vCentre, MS HyperV
- Active Directory management including file services and permissions
- Experience with Storage Platform admin (Tintri, PURE, XtremIO, VMAX, VxRail)
