Job Description

The Bank of New York Mellon provides committed and uncommitted credit to support strategic clients.  The Credit Management Group evaluates the business justification for institutional bank credit requests and supports the Bank’s credit strategy.   Reviews transaction term sheets, client revenue trends and opportunities to grow the relationship.  Calculates the return on the required capital for the exposure.  Evaluates exposure and revenue relative to other lenders.  Works with business partners in Global Client Management and Investment Services to crystallize the business justification.  Meets with clients to discuss BNYM’s credit strategy, the credit request and potential opportunity set.  Advises business partners on the regulatory capital issues related to committed and uncommitted exposure.  Provides training sessions on the credit products, the process for requesting credit and the components of the relationship analysis.  Conducts industry and company research in support of credit requests and special initiatives.  Maintains exposure and revenue databases.  Works on special projects which support BNYM’s credit strategy.  Contributes to the achievement of related teams objectives.  


Bachelors degree in finance or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 7-10 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in credit analysis preferred.
