Portfolio Compliance Senior Representative

The BNY Mellon Portfolio Compliance team performs automated compliance testing of ’40 Act mutual funds to ensure compliance with investment requirements established by the IRS, SEC and the individual fund prospectuses.


Working under general supervision, the Senior Representative is responsible for the daily oversight and review of mutual fund client investment portfolios.


They will independently perform research and analysis of daily compliance exceptions for their fund clients, validate compliance exceptions and bring issues to a logical conclusion.  The Senior Specialist will collaborate with their Supervisor to review exceptions and provide supporting documentation and justification of their conclusions.  They will communicate directly with clients by providing daily notification of compliance exceptions, respond to client inquiries, and document all client responses and directives.  They will correspond and collaborate with internal departments and external clients to resolve compliance issues in a timely fashion.  The Senior Specialist will coordinate monthly and quarterly compliance reporting packages as well as provide documentation for audit purposes.  They will train other staff members on reporting and compliance functions, client specific procedures and participate in special projects.

Tax Reporting and Compliance - IC1 Assists with performance of calculations for internal and/or external clients and completion of tax reporting or other regulatory filing requirements to ensure compliance with state and national regulations. Assists with the implementation of client plans for the tax and/or regulatory cycle and ensures deadlines are met. Gathers data and documentation to complete standard filings. Determines liabilities, withholdings, and other calculations for internal or external clients. May answer routine questions from clients regarding tax and/or regulatory calculations and reporting. Assists clients in addressing tax and regulatory questions posed by their investors. No direct reports. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives. Supports a selected number of clients. 


Bachelors degree in a business discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 0-3 years of total work experience preferred. Tax reporting and analysis experience preferred.
