The Process and Efficiency Business Analyst is responsible for administering several key processes for Mellon Investment Corporation (Mellon) end to end. These include the production, analysis, and reporting of Assets Under Management (AUM) data; the administration, development, and reporting for Mellon’s implementation of Salesforce.com CRM software: ENGAGE; and data management for the Sales Commissions process for the Business. In addition to this essential role, the Business Analyst will also collaborate with the team on several key functions such as liaising with BNYM Finance, Project initiatives to improve and modernize the three key functions of the role and cross-functional back up on the team.
Accurately sourcing, quality checking, and maintaining AUM data for Mellon business in its entirety and presenting this data in an acceptable format for use by teams across the firm.
Serves as key point of contact and subject matter expert for CRM software at Mellon.
Serves as the data manager for the Business’s perspective of the Commissions process.
Under moderate guidance, works with internal and external datasets and client reference data and provides analysis.
Provides analytical support and prepares drafts of standard and ad hoc reports for assigned area at the request of managers and/or other leaders.
Presents complex data in a concise and meaningful manner leveraging Excel, BI tools, SQL, data integrity tools, and data presentation tools.
Has a good understanding of the relevant processes and products in assigned area and which analyses, methodologies, and approaches best support assessment of performance, risk, or valuation. Interprets findings and prepares initial drafts of standard reports.
Translates complex technical concepts and analyses to non-technical audiences. Reviews accuracy of reports and calculations performed by less experienced colleagues.
Primarily responsible for the accuracy and quality of own work. Work contributes to the achievement of team goals.
Serves as resource to less experienced colleagues; Provides guidance to more junior analysts.
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
5-7 years’ experience preferred; 5 plus years’ experience in the financial service industry preferred; experience with large and complex financial data sets, problem solving, and attention to detail preferred
