GrpMgr, LoB Risk (Mgr. Wealth Mgmt. OpRisk)
The Wealth Management Risk Manager works to ensure that all facets of the Wealth Management Operational Risk Framework are appropriately implemented and reflect with the risk profile of the business and align with the requirements of Corporate Operational Risk Management and the Operational Risk Assurance Team.
Manages a global/regional
team of professional staff and less experienced managers responsible for the
ongoing independent oversight and challenge of day-to-day risk management
activities, client, product and process change risk assessments and risk
reporting for an assigned business line/entity risk or legal entity facing a
low level of risk. Contributes to the assessment, monitoring and reporting on
risks inherent to business activities, including fiduciary, reputational,
business and strategic risks. Manages the business line/entity risk or legal
entity's adherence to the Operational Risk Management Framework. Serves on Risk
Management Committees to ensure their effectiveness; facilitates and encourages
informed and constructive debate on key issues. Contributes to the
establishment of the assigned business line or legal entity's risk appetite
statements and helps to ensure alignment with the Company Risk Appetite
Statement. Assists the assigned business line or legal entity with the
identification, assessment and mitigation of risks and helps to implement
controls to manage emerging issues. Monitors compliance and assigns routine
monitoring responsibilities to professional staff. Contributes to the
development of routine reports as required and delivers these to management,
CORM and the Operational Risk Committee (ORC). Works with the Business Sponsor
to identify and document risks and mitigants around accepting new business and
to gain implementation approval from the appropriate stakeholders and
governance body. Reviews the business or legal entity's process for accepting
new business, preparing and maintaining standard documents and RFP databases
and the process for monitoring adherence to policies and procedures. Assist
with the appropriate completion of business process and product changes.
Responsible for gaining the appropriate approvals for the change and ensuring
all required documentation is completed. Contributes to efforts to develop a
strong organizational risk culture. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops
professional staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their
professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their
colleagues as a team. Provides feedback at the most critical times. Manages a
global/regional team of professional staff and less experienced managers.
Responsible for achievement of team goals. Ensures team is equipped to
operationalize and attain objectives. Manages financial resources of the team
(budgets, expenses, etc.). Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.
QualificationsBachelor s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 10-12 years of total work experience, with 1-3 years of management experience, preferred.
