Job Description


Incumbent will provide independent, objective analysis and monitoring of credit quality for the structured loan portfolio. Responsibilities for managing the portfolio include: underwriting of loans, conducting annual reviews, structuring and underwriting new loan requests, performing analysis to proactively evaluate future performance of borrowers or prospects and collateral for the loan and other functions in connection with BNY Mellon’s Wealth Management lending business. Will be responsible for confirming that all business is conducted in accordance with credit policies and procedures, maintaining client service standards while growing the portfolio of quality loans. Will complete high quality underwriting documentation on a timely basis and recommend credit risk ratings. Work in partnership with Wealth Management Private Bankers and Relationship Managers to structure new loan opportunities. Engage with clients to determine credit needs and to evaluate proposed collateral and other transaction risks, structures proposed lending solutions, prepares and presents term sheets, assists with document preparation and negotiations, and assists with loan approval and closing processes.



Qualifications

The qualified candidate will be at a vice President level and will have a BS/BA degree in business or equivalent experience with 6+ years of commercial or private bank lending experience or lending-related experience such as credit recovery across a broad range of products, including investment credit lines, life insurance premium finance, private equity capital call lines, letters of credit, as well as unsecured loans. An MBA is a plus. Completion of a disciplined bank credit training program (or equivalent work experience), along with specialized knowledge of complex products/businesses as required by the segment of business assignment is required. Must be knowledgeable about and adhere to all regulations impacting the business. Must have excellent communication skills, as well as knowledge of/experience in the use of relevant computer software including Microsoft Office applications. Occasional travel is required.
