Relationship Management Specialist

The Mellon Relationship Management Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
Assumes Relationship Management responsibilities for a portfolio of junior‐revenue institutional clients (DB, DC E&F), providing support for a segment of the client base. These clients, many of whom are among the firm’s oldest, expose Mellon to important consultant firms, help keep the investing public aware of our capabilities, and help round out and diversify the sources of revenue at the firm. This set of responsibilities will serve as exceptional professional development and, importantly, allow the senior members of Relationship Management to more confidently assume client commitments in a growth environment.
Identifies opportunities to evolve client business for incremental account growth. Serves in a consultative role to the client, advising on the best way to achieve short and long- term strategic objectives.
Continually evaluate client needs and ensure sustained client engagement by conducting frequent and regular check-ins with assigned clients, ensuring continued satisfaction and strategic alignment with firm services/product offerings, and researching client issues to bring to resolution.
Develop, track, and report on relationship strategy/results for assigned client portfolio.
Provides field‐level support to its subadvisory clients’ internal and external wholesaling teams.
Straightforward institutional wholesaler activities; strategy‐specific investment updates, broader economic messaging, Mellon brand ambassadorship, and co‐sponsorship of client sales activities.
Support asset‐gathering to the mutual benefit of the client and Mellon; offers mission‐critical assurance to clients specific to Mellon’s honoring and prioritizing its commitment to the partnership.
Frequent live one-to-many presenting -- 10-12 times / yr
Bachelors’ degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required, preferably with a concentration in Finance, Business Administration, or Marketing.
Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
5-7 years of total work experience, with a minimum of 1‐2 years’ internal wholesaling experience preferred.
Financial Services experience with a particular client type or product (Hedge, Pension, etc.) preferred, as is prior experience in Relationship Management, Client Services or Account Management.
Series 7 and 63 required; or ability to obtain within first 90 days of hire.
Exceptional presentation and written communication skills preferred.
Ability to proactively and independently build and manage relationships with client base.
40% Travel expected (1‐2 days per week)
