Thematic Investment Research Head

The Thematic Investment Head will report directly to the CIO of Equity. The Active Equity team manages about 40 Billion in assets with approximately 7 Billion in thematic product and a strong asset growth path. The incumbent will be involved in all aspects of our thematic investment platform.  The ideal candidate will have strong investment acumen, outstanding communication skills and proven ability to build a business.   
  
The Thematic Head will be expected to:

  • Collaborate with other investors in the organization to identify where Innovation & Disruption equals a potential theme
  • Lead the process of moving a theme from exploration, to R&D, to pilot, to investment, this might include the formation of thematic working groups
  • Participate in all sector team meetings, connecting the dots between investment teams
  • Identify companies with exposure to themes, assist in maintaining investment universes and in some cases building financial models
  • Lead engagements with external consultants and industry experts in collaboration with our investment analysts
  • Oversee the process of selected thematic funds
  • Travel globally to attend industry conferences and client meetings
  • Collaborate on white papers, take leadership for driving content
  • Creative cutting edge marketing materials for themes
  • Make presentations on investment recommendations and themes to internal and external parties


Qualifications


  • A minimum of 10 years of investment experience
  • Research, financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Knowledge of quantitative investment approaches
  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written creativity
  • Openness to new challenges, ideas, approaches and environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a track record of working effectively with others, both internal and external to the organization
