Sr. Portfolio Manager I
Manages a team responsible for managing a significant amount of assets within investment policy guidelines. May manage less complex accounts or primarily rely on a model/policy. Supervises Portfolio Managers or Associate Portfolio Managers. Manages junior staff. Responsible for ensuring that portfolio strategy is applied to individual accounts by demonstrating a deep understanding of investment products and operational policies and procedures. Will meet with clients and new business prospects to communicate investment strategy, discuss market performance and current market conditions. Act as a spokesperson for fund.Independently implement investment strategies for complex funds/strategies consistent with client financial goals and risk tolerance and in accordance with the investment policies/philosophies and procedures and applicable regulations.Evaluate the performance of investments, and make timely changes to a portfolio to meet investment objectives or allocation guidelines.Gather key stakeholder input and leverage data and information to help the business track key performance indicators and make business decisions. Build necessary processes to enable executive leadership to make informed decisions on changes that impact the portfolio.Meet with clients and new business prospects to communicate investment strategy, discuss performance, and review current market conditions.Investment committee responsibilities and commit to sharing and developing policies and strategies to improve the business performance.Recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages the Investments of a significant amount of assets with a supervised team. Supervises Portfolio Managers or Associate Portfolio Managers. Manages junior staff. Independently manages a significant amount of assets. Contributes to team/firm profitability by assuring retention and expansion of existing client relationships by contributing to superior investment performance and client services. Important to the retention of clients.
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 10 years of total work experience preferred and over 10 years of investment experience preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business. As global firm, bi-lingual capabilities are helpful as is an understanding of local/cultural nuances important for client trust.
