Job Description

Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for supporting the Asset Servicing Relationship and Sales team as the Global Risk Solutions (GRS) expert for Clients taking GRS services (Performance, Attribution, Analytics, Compliance and Risk). The GRS Consultant is responsible for ensuring that the GRS service is running smoothly and is fit for purpose. Dealing with Clients’ day-to-day queries is a key part of this role. The consultant will support the Relationship Manager (RM) with cross sell opportunities and deal with Client queries. In addition, the individual will work with the Sales Team as the GRS expert on new business opportunities.

The Client base will include Pension Funds, Financial Institutions, Sovereign Wealth Funds and others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the GRS expert for an assigned Client group
  • Ensure that the GRS service is fit for purpose for assigned Clients

  • Deal effectively with Client queries, issues and enquiries, working independently or with other groups as required

  • Support the Relationship Manager with cross sell activity

  • Deal with licensing and contractual issues relating to the GRS service such as GRS contracts, vendor contracts etc.

  • Ensure the set-up of new accounts and benchmarks are in line with Client requirements so that the performance can be measured correctly and in accordance with how the assets are managed

  • Show Clients how to get the most from our GRS service

  • Be a Client advocate for GRS Product Development

  • Liaise and communicate with the Relationship Management, GRS Operations, Product Management and other groups as required

  • Present the GRS product and service to prospect Clients if required

  • Assist the RM with pricing, invoicing and queries relating to GRS services

This challenging position, embedded in an international and fast-paced environment, is based in our Amsterdam or Breda office.

Technical Skills, Knowledge, Systems Knowledge:


The successful candidate preferably needs to have a client relationship or client service background within investment performance measurement. In addition to that the below knowledge / skills are preferable:

  • Expert in Performance, Attribution, Risk and Compliance

  • Strong Market Risk knowledge would be an advantage

  • Ability to understand GRS reporting and to be able to articulate it to Clients and their advisors

  • Ability to interact with Clients and other internal groups in the Netherlands as well as other BNY Mellon locations

  • Ability to demonstrate our product set for cross sale opportunities and to ensure Clients get the most from our service

  • A good understanding of GRS systems is beneficial

  • Problem and issue resolution

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Minimum HBO degree qualified or equivalent

  • IMC and working towards CIPM or CFA preferred

  • Languages: Dutch and English are required, German advantageous
