Job Description – Treasury Middle Office - London
The EMEA Treasury Middle Office is looking is looking to recruit an experienced middle office / operations senior associate / junior VP to join the EMEA Treasury Middle Office based in London. Applicants will have significant experience working in middle office operations in a global banking organisation.
The EMEA Treasury Middle Office directly supports the key activities of International Treasury.  The International Treasury Desk is active in UK, Europe and APAC with key functions in liquidity and capital management, ensuring that the behavioural balance sheet is appropriately modelled and maintained, as well as timely, efficient and controlled risk reporting and position monitoring of Treasury transactions and the balance sheet.
The role requires individuals to understand the nature of supporting a dynamic Line of Business with multiple products executed across global jurisdictions. The role empowers the individual to identify and drive changes to controls and processes to ensure that the appropriate checks are in place in order to provide an efficient and controlled risk environment in which to operate. 
• Processing and control of International Treasury trading activity – Fixed Income (securities and repo) FX and Interest Rate derivatives and Money Market deals with emphasis on timely and accurate trade processing and trade confirmations • Perform the team functions with full understanding of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment – awareness of all key risks and associated controls. • Review and update key documentation – Procedures and policies, Service Level Descriptions, third party vendor contracts and any others where required • Provide input into monthly Corporate Treasury Risk Committee, Volcker compliance attestations and other forums both within Treasury and Operations. • Perform analysis on Treasury collateral, supporting the Front Office on management of collateral of optimisation and regulatory requirements • Support the EMEA Treasury Middle Office in designing the processes and controls for new business change projects and new product on-boarding – act as lead project manager on multiple programmes impacting the Business • Deliver Business Regulatory Change compliance by supporting the core requirements for new and existing regulations – MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR with scoping regulations, reviewing impacts and performing gap analysis where appropriate • Ensure technical and technological change with proactive reviews of processes and controls to consistently improve and better the Treasury Operating Model  • Help the EMEA Treasury Middle Office in its responsibility for oversight and assurance of new and existing outsourced Treasury Operations  • Build and develop key relationships with all business partners – Other Lines of Business, Risk, Legal and Compliance • Support internal and external reviews of control environment – SOX and internal/external audits


• Significant experience in working within middle office operations in a global banking organisation • Extensive product knowledge primarily in Fixed Income, FX and Derivatives with understanding of product types, trade and operational flows and settlement mechanisms • Understanding of Corporate Treasury as a function within a banking organisation – dealing on own account, liquidity and currency management, risk mitigation and balance sheet optimisation • Solid understanding of collateral management, uses and types of collateral and pledging of assets • Advanced knowledge of MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR and other relevant regulatory requirements • Demonstrable experience in project management and business analysis with ability to scope regulations, review and assess impacts and perform gap analysis where appropriate • Ensure technical and technological change with proactive reviews of processes and controls to consistently improve and better the Treasury Operating Model  • Solid understanding of recent Regulatory change and its impact on Treasury • Wide coverage and use of vendor and in-house trading and booking systems / platforms i.e. Blackrock Aladdin, Wall Street, Summit etc • Good Microsoft Office skills • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and quantitative skills
