Lead Application Support Analyst*
As a Corporate Technology Level 1 Production Services Analyst, you will be part of a global team managing mission critical applications across a range of technologies. BNY Mellon’s Corporate Technology division includes applications supporting Enterprise Risk and Compliance, Finance and Corporate Treasury and Human Resources. The level 1 team will provide 24x7 first line support and incident management using a follow-the-sun staffing model. The team will be responsible for incident resolution or escalation to the appropriate senior support resources and will manage communication with affected stakeholders. This position will be staffed for a 5-day work week including at least one weekend day.
Work with a global team of level 1 support analysts including responsible for managing the Corporate Technology production environment
Respond to instrumentation events, diagnose and triage application issues
Work with level 2 support leads and application development teams to ensure up to date and accurate recovery documentation
Participate in production readiness and permit to operate reviews for new initiatives to validate production supportability
Keep up to date incident records
Manage to Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) metrics and work on continuous improvement
Follow up from incidents to ensure appropriate alerting and automation to prevent reoccurrences
Ability to deal with time sensitive issues in support of critical service level commitements
Lead Appl Support Analyst->> Maintains and supports applications and their operating environments. Provides technical and/or business guidance to the SCM team as well as other groups. May allocate/coordinate work within a team/project. Analyzes system requirements. May review SCM plans and SCM scripts/programs.Monitors changes to applications and their operating environment. Analyzes any complex issues. Provides application support input with regard to SCM activities. May interact directly with clients regarding project activities. Recommends technical solutions on application problems. Reviews and analyzes product migrations through all systems environments. Reviews and develops updates of contingency documentation and processes. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
· Development experience in Java, C#, C++ or related languages
· 4-6 years of experience in supporting mission critical applications
· Experience in IT Support, Incident and Service Request Management.
· Excellent communication skills
· Linux / Unix command line and shell and/or Python scripting
· Windows system management
