Sr Operations Manager
The incumbent manages, develops, and evaluates a branch staff responsible for providing quality service to Retail & BNY Mellon Advisor clients, providing feedback, assessing skills and assigning responsibilities. Provides support to the management team and assists in the development and execution of the department's business plan, adhering to goals in the areas of quality and productivity. Additionally, the incumbent builds productive client relationships in an effort to increase revenue and maintain assets. The incumbent takes sole responsibility for principal suitability review and signoff of Client Profiles, Annuity Profiles, Transaction reports (EAI) and application review. (Note: This is different from the sign off procedure currently in place where the sole responsibility for signoff on all trade related documents fell on the Sales Supervisor.) In addition, the incumbent is responsible to ensure that all sales and operational practices adhere to internal as well as NASD & SEC guidelines.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. FINRA series 7 & 63 required. Series 24 required. 3-5 years supervisory experience and /or experience in branch operations. Ability to work and cooperate with other lines of business managers in pressure and time sensitive situations. Strong customer relation skills, and knowledge of both mutual funds as well as the brokerage platform. Excellent communication (verbal and written), analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills required. PC skills required. Ability to effectively manage a staff so that maximum employee productivity is achieved. A keen understanding of investment practices and their relationship to regulatory policies and procedures.
