Lead - Business Analysis

Job Profile

(General description of job)

·       The Business System Analyst (BSA) will work closely with cross functional team or the client services team to gather requirements, document them and liaise with the development/testing teams to take them to completion.

·       Assist in the definition of Project and I.T. scope.

·       Assist Project Manager with initial planning and estimation, particularly in respect of the definition and test phases.

·       Assist Project Manager with definition of project approach, communication plan, roles and responsibilities, particularly in respect of the definition and testing phases.

·       Assist Project Manager in identification and mitigation of project risks / issues.

·       Actively participate in Progress and Steering meetings, as required.

·       Develop business process models for both the existing and desired processes.

·       Document the business, functional and non-functional requirements, coordinating the review and approval process for each document, including peer reviews.

·       Ensure traceability between business requirements and functional requirements.

·       Assist the Technical Analyst in the analysis and documentation of the Technical Design, ensuring business and functional requirements are understood and addressed.

·       Manage Functional Testing and Regression testing

·       Communicate clearly and frequently both to the business (internal client) and within the I.T. Project team.

·       Excellent understanding and experience of Waterfall and iterative (especially Scrum) project lifecycles and related tools and techniques.

·       Formal business analysis qualification and experience in UML, RUP or another structured methodology

·       Self-starter, motivated and able to work without day-to-day supervision

 

Role

(Specific tasks and the role of this position)

·       Produce the High-level design or detailed design document for a specific module/component/application that is either standalone or part of an integration project.

·       Must have an understanding of the business, technology, software and hardware needs for the project. Understand technological possibilities and technological limits.

·       Define and document supporting user manuals.

·       Coordinates the work of the technical resources assigned to the project.

·       Ensure that every technical component is accounted for and that all relevant tasks are identified and tracked.

·       Performs integration testing to verify the function of the software is traceable back to the Detail and High-Level Design Documents.  Coordinates test stage execution as assigned and ensures defects are resolved prior to proceeding to the next test stage

·       Own an issue or a challenge that affects system development or deployment and research and propose solutions for it. Identify risk/issues and challenges that affect system development or deployment.  Own every aspect of the development process.

Total Experience

 Around 10 years of experience with mixed skills of BA and technical expertise

 

 

Mandatory technical competencies

·       Demonstrable experience of working in a financial environment

·       Demonstrable experience of working in a technology team

·       Demonstrable experience of working with integrated systems or off the shelf applications

·       Able to work efficiently within deadlines & SLA’s

·       Strong English written & verbal communication skills

·       Experience in working with Windows, Citrix, Linux, Oracle/SQL Server based applications

·       Excellent multi-tasking, problem solving & analytical skills
