A newly created project office within Mellon Investment Management is being built out with the responsibility for managing the development and implementation of Mellon’s strategic imperatives and business initiatives. This encompasses the development of business cases, execution of key initiatives and general advisory and support to Mellon’s senior executives.




  • Leads projects and implements various business development activities aimed to increase the growth and profitability of Mellon

  • Works independently, and directly with management and with executives in other areas of BNY Mellon

  • Works with individual business and functional leaders to help shape their priorities and connect into Bank-wide strategic narrative and priorities

  • Connects Mellon’s core agenda to cross-business priorities and (when needed) serves as a convener

  • Identifies opportunities and helps develop strategic external partners (e.g., with large clients, technology companies, other industry stakeholders)

  • Helps source and incubate cross-business/new business ventures (digital, data)

  • Counsels senior business leaders with the objective of being a trusted advisor

  • Manages complexity and leading multiple projects with an unrelenting focus and prioritization



Skills & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in business management or related field is required

  • MBA strongly preferred

  • Financial services experience, preferably in the asset management and/or mutual funds space

  • Proven success in Project Management, particularly with large, complex projects

  • Prior experience in mergers & acquisitions, lift-outs, divestitures

  • Strategic planning and/or business consulting experience preferred

  • Sophisticated analytical, financial modeling skills, including valuation analysis and project management skills

  • Thorough and comprehensive research abilities

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple large, complex projects, priorities and deadlines concurrently, often under tight time constraints

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills, including ability to present recommendations and highlight key points in a succinct manner to executive management based on sound quantitative and qualitative analysis
