Specialist, Recovery and Resolution Planning (Treasury and ALM)

Job Description

The Recovery and Resolution Planning team within the Asset Liability Management group of Corporate Treasury is responsible for financial projections to support the development and ongoing maintenance of annual Recovery and Resolution Plans (RRPs) to meet regulatory requirements. The team is also responsible for the periodic forecasting of resolution related capital and liquidity metrics for distribution to senior management and regulators. The team develops reporting and crafts messaging for resolution metrics, the Asset Liability Committee and Fixed Income Committee presentations for distribution to senior management and regulators. This analyst position is primarily focused on the development, production and presentation of financial projections.

 

Primary expectations of the role of the Principal Financial Analyst include:

·         Achieve regulatory deliverables, including production of financial projections for annual RRPs, and drafting narrative as needed

·         Produce timely and accurate periodic forecasts of resolution-related metrics Provide support to junior analysts to foster skill development and leadership

·         Partner with other team members to identify/develop enhancements to forecasting capabilities

·         Assist with calibration and refinement of forecasting assumptions and methodologies

·         Calculate resolution trigger metrics should actual stressed circumstances impact the company

  • Cultivate professional, mutually supportive relationships with other groups across the institution

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will exhibit the following:

·         Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Degree in math, engineering, statistics, computational finance or economics preferred. MBA, CFA, or CPA/CA preferred

·         5-7 years’ experience preferred; experience with financial services firms preferred

·         Highly advanced Excel and financial modeling skills

·         Familiarity (or ability to quickly develop familiarity) with resolution plan regulatory guidance

·         Ability to analyze large quantities of financial data, formulate conclusions and communicate these persuasively

 

Additional/Preferred skillsets include:

·         Accounting, Treasury, liquidity management and / or regulatory capital knowledge

·         Quantitative Risk Management (QRM), SQL or other programming language experience

  • Strong oral and written communications skills, particularly as it relates to complex financial data and narrating results
  • Willingness to challenge established processes / assumptions and to constructively dissent when appropriate
  • A deep comfort level with a fast paced and frequently changing environment
  • Ability to think strategically and from a broad view point
  • Effective time and process management skills
