Senior Specialist, LoB Risk

Job Description

  • Serve as the key point of contact for all risk-related issues in the Singapore branch, providing regular updates on risk issues which impact the company’s businesses, including prevention, identification, mitigation and resolution.  Identify adverse trends and coordinate corrective action plans, as necessary.

  • Contributes to the ongoing independent oversight and challenge of day-to-day risk management activities, client, product and process change risk assessments and risk reporting for the Singapore branch.   Establish and oversee an effective framework for managing risk in the Singapore branch, identifying and implementing “best practices”.  Serve as a “horizontal”, Second Line of Defense, providing the Country Executives and branch management teams with a clear vision of where risks lie, helping to define policies for distributing and offsetting those risks, and working to communicate that vision so that individual managers understand and support it.  Collaborate with management on formulating and executing strategy and decision-making with regards to risk issues.

  • Advises and assist local businesses and business partners with the evaluation of their existing processes and uses knowledge of risks that commonly arise to appropriately direct the business line's activities to address any control gaps.

  • Collaborate with Business Risk Managers and ensure proper linkages to internal control groups.  Contributes to the appropriate completion of all steps involved in the identification of possible risks in local businesses and business partners during the creation or modification of new products and processes and all non-standard business acceptance events.

  • Administers modifications to reduce implementation risk, as directed, and works to ensure compliance, risk and control documentation and notification of all appropriate representatives and regulators.

  • Ensure that the Singapore branch is in compliance with related risk regulations and internal risk policies. Escalates issues, as needed.

  • Provide training and communicate risk management policies and best practices to local staff members.

  • No direct reports; provides guidance to more junior team members.
  • Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
  • Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.


  • Bachelor s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 7-10 years of total work experience preferred
