BNY Mellon is seeking an Associate Credit Analyst.  Responsibilities include:

 
  • Assist one or more Senior Credit Analysts in reviewing financial statements and other data on specific issuers and industries in the high grade short-term debt market.

  • Perform intensive fundamental credit analysis and formulate and effectively communicate investment recommendations that add value to covered short-term cash strategies. 

  • Ad hoc responsibilities such as reporting and database management

  • Over time, s/he will be expected to assume responsibility for conducting credit analysis for a small portfolio of high grade debt issuers within the financial and/or corporate sectors under the guidance of a senior analyst. 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree  or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required; work towards CFA/MBA will be encouraged.

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience; 2 - 3 years of previous credit experience in investment management, banking or credit research preferred.

  • Solid quantitative and qualitative analytical skills preferred, attention to detail and strong excel skills.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting preferred.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills preferred. (both written and oral)

  • Proven interpersonal skills with ability to work with a fair degree of autonomy and demonstrate initiative and a sense of personal accountability, but remain a team player and enjoy contributing in a cooperative environment;  ability to work well in a small, collaborative team.
