Job Purpose:
The role is integral to the Newton client reporting and performance analysis process. It has two key elements:,
a) to support the Investment Performance team’s use of FactSet for investment analysis purposes, and
b) to act as the key liaison point between the Investment Performance and Client Reporting teams to ensure the effective creation, administration and operation of the performance analysis reports that are required to meet regular client reporting requirements as well as providing regular management information on progress for the Head of Investment Performance

Key Responsibilities:
• To work with the Investment Performance and Client Reporting teams to ensure that regular reporting requirements are met, new requirements are documented and then developed internally and/or working with FactSet to develop these reports.
• To support the Investment Performance team’s use of FactSet by monitoring security classifications, client set up and other administrative/maintenance duties in FactSet
• To assist in the integration of investment accounting data into FactSet to ensure a seamless transition away from the legacy accounting platform.
• To work with the Investment Performance and Client Reporting teams to ensure that regular reporting requirements are met, new requirements are documented and then developed internally and/or working with FactSet to develop these reports.
• Assist in the effort to ensure performance data is consistently of the highest quality and presented in informative and illuminating ways
• To monitor and check the consistency of returns across different reporting media
• To understand the basics of Newton’s investment process and how this relates to investment performance
• To assist and undertake any analysis as directed by the Head of Investment Performance and other team members

Generic Responsibities:
Provide accurate and appropriate management information to Senior Management.
Comply with all corporate policies and procedures including Heath and Safety Policy.

TCF, Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities:
Be aware, maintain knowledge and adhere to the relevant regulatory and legal obligation of the function managed, including local and wider group policies. This should include an understanding, and the appropriate application, of the FSA requirements, the Six Consumer Outcomes and Newton’s TCF commitments. Report any suspected breaches to the Compliance or Legal departments, as appropriate immediately on discovery.

Risk Management:
Monitor, document and report business risks and internal controls of the function managed, alerting Senior Management immediately of any significant changes.

Business Continuity:
Maintaining and test a current and effective continuity plan to ensure an appropriate response to any disruption to systems, information services, communications and office facilities.

Generic Staff Responsibilities:
• Comply with all BNY Mellon corporate policies and procedures, including HR policies and procedures, applicable to BNY Mellon
• Alert management including the Chief Risk Officer and / or the EMEA Chief Risk Officer immediately of any significant changes to business risks and internal control effectiveness.
• Notify management and/or the Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer and Head of International Compliance immediately on discovery of any material regulatory breach.
• Comply with all Security and Health & Safety policies and procedures operating within the business.

Experience and qualifications required:
• Highly numerate and ideally with a background in mathematics or statistics
• Knowledge of investment processes and strategies, ideally those of Newton
• Working knowledge of data analysis tools, particularly investment performance tools and ideally Factset
• Ability to learn fast and quickly recognise issues and identify solutions
• Strong focus on deliverables and managing to timelines and deadlines
• Good stakeholder management skills and ability to manage competing priorities and resolve conflicts
