Clearing, Markets & Issuer Services Technology (CMIST) is responsible for application development and support for more than 350 critical business systems including Repo Edge (collateral management), Enterprise Payment Hub (multi-currency payment processing), and Broker Dealer Clearance (securities clearing).
Clearance and Collateral Technology (CCT) within CMIST builds high-performance and resilient clearance and collateral management platforms to service BNY Mellon’s broker-dealer clients and is the sole provider for Government Securities Clearing Services. The group is currently focused on Repo Modernization, which will pave the way to the Future of Collateral for the business – providing strengthened platform resiliency and new trade capabilities within a unified system. All CCT applications are built for real-time operations aided by a data warehouse for reporting and business insights. We are looking for a strong Full Stack Engineer who are excited about building this next generation system. They will have the unique opportunity to build a sophisticated high performance security master system using the latest technology stack and best software engineering practices. They will become the members of the core team driving it forward and will have a significant impact in how it’s implemented.
Sr. Specialist Developer->> Consults with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support. Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology. Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications. Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. Contributes to defining time tables and project plans. Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. Takes lead for establishing, implementing and monitoring 'best practices' for technical development methodologies and tools. Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.
Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
8-10 years of experience in software development required, of which recent 7+ years of experience in Java tech stack
- Strong CS fundamentals, core Java, multithreading and problem solving skills are required
- Proficient with Java 8, Spring, RestfulAPI, JDBC, JPA, Log4J, Oracle, Tomcat and Apache
- Experience building distributed high-performance, high-availability systems
- Experience working as a Full stack engineer with excellent design skills
- Experience with and strong understanding of Java ETL use cases with large volume of data is preferred
- Experience working in a strong agile environment is preferred
- Additional Preferred skills: DevOps tools and techniques, Maven, Git, SonarQube, Docker and Microservices
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
