Mellon is seeking an Investigative Research Associate, with the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing detailed investigative research as part of the investment process.

  • Responsibilities may include performing channel checks with industry contacts, analyzing industry trends, sizing product markets, and strategic analyses of various companies to help determine their competitive positions.

  • Conduct, plan, gather, and organize research from primary and secondary sources on businesses, markets, and investments.

  • Interpret, manage, and analyze research data in order to translate results into solutions for Sr. Research Analysts to issue buy/sell recommendations.

  • The focus will be on macro environment and industry conditions, company business strategy and management, historical financial trends, future expectations, volatility, among other factors.

  • Analyses may focus on individual securities, classes of securities, or broad emerging trends and themes that will impact investing for years to come. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • 2-5 years of journalism or research experience preferred.
