Job Purpose and Responsibilities:
DRT (Distributed Response Team) - This team is primarily responsible for providing first line break/fix for the distributed systems (server and infrastructure) where the issue is a problem with any functionality. Works collaboratively as a team member to upport of systems in a production environment. Primary objective is to restore service ASAP. The scope of these environments include but is not limited to Microsoft, Linux, Cloud operating systems as well as the applications that run on these platforms. In addition, the DRT provides support and performs scheduled maintenance and health checks of distributed resources and applications. DRT’s primary responsibility is to provide Level 1 support for technology resources and applications running on Windows and UNIX platforms. Our secondary responsibility is to assure the safety and stability of corporate infrastructure and minimize customer impact caused by incidents. The DRT strives to accomplish this by resolving incidents as close to the point of notification as possible. We partner with our peers within other lines of business to improve the overall level of service. Confident and effective prioritisation skills, able to be to track problems according to standards and priorities and where applicable refers problem to the next level of support if appropriate. DRT provides 24 x 7 support coverage which will require occasional weekend and holiday coverage. There is limited if any on-call support requirement.
Requirements: Distributed operations specialist – 2 – 3 years of distributed compute experience in either/or Windows or Unix. Associates degree or equivalency required.
The candidate should also have experience with the following technologies: • Thorough knowledge on Unix/Windows Platform • Basic knowledge on Backup and Restore • Use of terminal emulators. • Candidate would be expected to lead technical conference calls working with multiple teams to find a solution to incidents pertaining to Windows and Unix issues. • Basic knowledge on AWS and/Azure cloud experience (desirable) • VMware • Basic Scripting skills & Knowledge on Automation would be an advantage • Experience on ticketing tools ( Moogsoft/ Remedy /Service now/ Grafana) • Basic networking knowledge is required • Articulate and confident communicator with both verbal and written skills • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively as a team members. • Experience of automating activities and automation tools an advantage.
