WM Deputy CIO_Hd of Invest Area_Equities

Job Description

The Deputy CIO will work with the WM CIO and the Head of Investor Solutions in managing the WM investment platform and processes.  Reporting to the CIO, She/He will serve on committees responsible for setting investment policies, designing model portfolios, selecting managers, and providing oversight and risk management.   Key constituents will include clients, front-office teams and regulators.  The incumbent will support the CIO as appropriate in a capacity of acting as a spokesperson for our overall investment portfolios and strategies.  The incumbent will also manage various subgroups within the overall Investment Management team; including serving as the Head of the Equities Team. 


The successful candidate should have a proven track record as an investor, experience in leading investment teams, and excellent leadership and communication skills.  Investment management experience of wealthy clients preferred.  10-15 years’ experience preferred, including management of professionals, investment instruments, multiple products, and should have an in-depth knowledge of, and experience in, equity investments.   The incumbent should have strong quantitative skills, strong industry contacts, and excellent communication and presentation skills commensurate with ability to communicate substantive material to groups in a style that maintains interest and understanding.  The successful candidate will also have proven leadership experience including experience-managing teams.  Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Economics or Finance) or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  MBA or other graduate degree in business, economics, finance or related field as well as CFA designation is preferred.
