Vice President, Senior Events and Strategy Manager, Marketing and Communications

Job Description

The Senior Events and Strategy Manager is the primary liaison between Marketing and the region or business line and is responsible for planning and implementing all programs and events for a particular expertise and/or discipline (e.g., seminars, national conferences, sponsorships or client events). While the key responsibility of this role will be focused on strategic event management – this individual will also provide support in identifying and prioritizing sales development opportunities and strategies. They will liaise with other marketing peers to build communication and marketing programs in support of the firm’s key strategic initiatives and business goals in addition to day-to-day support of brand awareness, client acquisition and client and employee engagement.     Within events, this candidate should be able to contribute at all levels, from strategy and concept to execution including content, speakers, venue, décor, materials, AV, signage, promotion and audience development. It is expected that the individual will bring new, creative ideas to the table, will be able to effectively partner with the regions that they support to create new content, and develop and execute events that promote lead generation and/or client retention.  This individual will manage budgets for the programming, which typically total between $1 and $2+MM annually and will also be responsible for ensuring accurate tracking and measurement of each event, and for recommending improvements to maximize impact.

This individual will interact with employees at all levels within our firm, vendors and suppliers, venue representatives and other professional contacts.   Critical skills include relationship building, excellent attention to detail, sound judgment and decision making, ability to work under pressure, adaptive personality/work style, excellent written and oral communications capabilities, strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills.  Ability to schedule and meet deadlines is critical as the position is exceptionally deadline sensitive based on the heavy emphasis on planning required. Must be able to independently manage multiple projects and issues effectively.

Qualifications

10 years of progressive leadership roles in event management, marketing and/or communications preferred, with a preference in financial services and banking businesses. College degree required. Travel requirement approximately 20%.
