Senior Group Manager, Market Intelligence / Strategy - Markets

Job Description

  • Leads market intelligence/strategy for a department through subordinate managers
  • Oversees the conduct, coordination and analysis of market intelligence for internal clients
  • Sets departmental priorities and allocates resources to align with business objectives and annual plan
  • Leads key initiatives
  • Maintains familiarity with industry best practices and seeks opportunities to implement market research findings as appropriate
  • Manages the performance of assigned staff;; coaches and guides
  • Participates in long-term or strategic planning for the market intelligence research and strategy function to support product conceptualization and development, client intimacy, and management reporting for assigned market segment(s)
  • Provides thought leadership on the development and implementation of techniques, processes and workflow tools and methodologies to encourage innovation and efficiency across the department/function
  • Maintains relationships with senior leaders to report trends and needs;; provides forward-looking and strategic insight on issues driving future revenue growth
  • Ensures that BNYM, sector, and business strategies are built on solid market intelligence
  • Sets strategic priorities on initiatives designed to improve the market research/intelligence/strategy function for the BNY Mellon
  • Determines needed improvements through review, research and analysis. Manage the human and financial resources of assigned team(s)
  • Ensures subordinate employees and managers have the tools and resources to perform the work expected of them;; assess, report on employee performance including direct coaching, motivation, and disciplinary action if required
  • Conduct workforce planning and management coaching

  • Work is primarily accomplished through subordinate managers
  • Responsible for the achievement of multiple team goals and objectives, talent management and supervision of team(s)


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, mathematics/statistics or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 10-15 years of total work experience with at least 3-5 years management experience preferred
  • Market intelligence and analysis experience preferred
  • Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
