Job Description

Change and Release Support Location: Manchester, United Kingdom Sunday-Thursday 12pm-9pm  

Maintains and supports applications and their operating environments. Coordinates production support activities for systems and related subsystems to ensure the integrity of computer generated data. Resolves moderately complex software application problems. Escalates issues to management. Monitors changes to applications and their operating environment. Analyzes any issues of moderate complexity and reports on and documents solutions.  Leads application change management functions through the administration of software configuration management products and participates in the development of standards to support these functions. Ensures proper capacity planning, documentation, and business recovery procedures/plans are in place for the production and development environments under his/her purview.  Develops and maintains processing standards and procedures related to the information processing environment. Looks for new and better ways to improve the environment, ensuring a quality product. Conducts surveys, feasibility studies, and benchmarks of software and development tools and technologies. Assists in supporting the achievement of team objectives.

 

Pimary job duties to include:  Infrastructure support, Support of BNY Mellon customizations, Participate in Agile based software development model, Provides guidance on technical subject matter to associates, Troubleshooting moderate to complex issues, Contributes to the achievement of team objectives, Provides off hour support as needed

 

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is beneficial, 6-8 years of diverse experience in information technology required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.  Preferred 5-7 years of experience supporting or developing applications.

 

S/he must be experienced with new application development as well as application support. S/he must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and quickly learn new application systems and technology.  S/he must have ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
