The incumbent will be expected to maintain a large pipeline of accounts/loans while possessing strong technical and industry knowledge that will enable the individual to be a go to person or resource within the department for loan specific issues and problem resolution. Individual will work closely with Unit Manager in the coordination of daily operational activities and workflow within the mortgage operations department. In addition to maintaining individual accounts, responsibilities will also include coordination and oversight of loan modification work flow, records management, mortgage vault activities and related vendor management responsibilities associated with all closing functions. This position supports the timely response to and resolution of loan level client inquiries and problems. The incumbent will participate in various functions, including but not limited to: staff training, input (to Unit Manager) for performance development and performance evaluations, procedure development and review and risk identification/mitigation. Will assist Unit Manager in implementing effective workflows and controls, identifying process efficiencies, implementing new mortgage regulations and establishing and maintaining relationships within the business line and across multiple business lines to satisfy client requests and research and resolve potential issues. The qualified candidate must have strong background in all facets of mortgage closing activities. This position requires excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills to support the success of the business line. A strong understanding of mortgage banking products/services and mortgage regulations is required. The Team Leader must be able to address a variety of client initiated concerns/questions on a daily basis. Complex client issues will be escalated to the Unit Manager. The incumbent must be able to determine solutions to problems and respond to the client with quick turnaround. The Team Leader will interact with internal and external clients both verbally and through written communication. She/he must demonstrate sensitivity to the clients concerns and project a professional image when dealing with the client. In addition, the Team Leader must possess the ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels (both internally and externally) in order to provide responses to inquiries received and to ensure that the business unit accurately interprets and complies with instructions provided.


BA/BS or equivalent experience required. Minimum of 5-7 years related mortgage experience, including experience in closing and mortgage file preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills are necessary. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment. Strong organizational skills. Proven history of overseeing all aspects of individual mortgage closings on a national basis.
