TSG is building next generation scalable, efficient data center as a service using the latest innovation infrastructure. Building on top of the cloud deployments in BNY Mellon, we are aggressively automating and bridging the green field cloud with the existing virtual computing environments.
The employee will be participating in full stack development for IDIP (the Configuration Management DB for the organization). The software is widely used throughout the organization, providing a catalog of both the IT assets as well as the organization's Application portfolio. Two technology stacks are currently maintained in parallel with the ultimate goal being the Java/Angular based product replacing the older Coldfusion based offering. Instantiation of new features will need to be performed in both environments.
Development of web pages in both Coldfusion and Java/Angular based systems.
Development of Oracle database objects tables/views/stored procedures/etc.
Requirements gathering with clients to define interfaces providing new sources of data.
Development of proactive safety checks to detect outages in both the core system as well as interfaces.
Provide technical backing to operations staff to ensure proper functionality as well as meeting of SLAs in the case of outages.
Lead Developer->> Provides application software development services or technical support in situations of moderate complexity. May also be responsible for requirements gathering and BRD/SRD preparation. Has thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. Conducts reviews of the test Plan and test Data. Writes new programs of moderate complexity and scope, working with basic application system designs and specifications, utilizing BNY Mellon's standard development methodology, procedures and techniques. Designs and codes programs, and creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and revise programs. Prepares the final and detailed versions of system modification requirements, ensures turnovers are done on time and correctly. Interfaces with architects to design, code, test and implement application programs. Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems. Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives.
Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
Four to six (4-6) years of experience in software development is required.
Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
Should have thorough knowledge of the software development cycle.
Solid understanding of the Java J2EE stack.
Strong foundational knowledge in Object Oriented Programming.
Strong knowledge of Web Frameworks such as Struts, Spring, Maven, Ant, Junit.
Foundational knowledge of data structures such as Lists, Maps, Set, Vectors and Matrix.
Service Oriented architectures such as Web Services, SOAP and REST API’s.
Markup languages such XML and JSON.
