Role description and opportunities

Marketing & Social Selling/Influencer strategy & campaign expert – to help build, write and edit our social marketing strategy for marketing.

You will play an integral role in the writing, editing, development and deployment of new social initiatives across the enterprise to implement a social selling, influencer and amplification strategy. This role will oversee social media strategy, governance as well as help define and execute BNY Mellon’s global social presence and social ambassador program.

We are looking for individuals who know that social is both an art and a science and has a proven track-record of bringing large social marketing campaigns to life for complex businesses. This role will also help guide key experts and executives to market and increase their social influence, help social selling in B to B space and create a firm wide marketing amplification strategy. The role will help coordinate the social marketing media enterprise calendar, lead innovative cross-team pilots designed to grow social audiences, drive traffic to owned sites and increase lead generation. You will be responsible for managing our social platforms, presence, schedule and governance as well as monitor, track and report on actionable trends.

Key responsibilities include the following

Design, implement and execute social media marketing and selling strategy to align with business goals

Write and edit for corporate social platforms

Help provide governance at the enterprise for all lines of business, coordination and workflow

Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences for marketing

Manage social media marketing campaigns across diverse set of high-priority social media initiatives including helping onboard experts and executives with a social media influencer strategy

Manage marketing social channels and day-to-day influencer and social selling management

Maintain social media marketing calendar and update based on evolving content objectives

Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media


A successful candidate should ideally have these qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.

Enterprise experience driving community building on and/or offline via social media

Experienced user of social media posting and reporting tools (preferred Hootsuite, Brandwatch and Proofpoint)

Experience with Paid Media, hashtag strategies, digital analytics (Adobe) and taxonomy

A minimum 10 years of social media marketing experience and social media writing experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to synthesize often complicated concepts in meaningful ways

Working knowledge of social media advertising, native and branded content, direct experience in social media management and content creation

Fast learner: processes and techniques around social publishing process will need to pivot based off a test and learn environment

Works well within a team environment: combined local-and distributed-team effort required

Process and results oriented

Works well handling requests within a specific timeframe and under tight deadlines

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
