The Data Governance and Management Specialist manages assigned projects under minimal direction utilizing a thorough understanding of the business, related systems, data and resources available. The incumbent will collaborate with the businesses they support, external vendors and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and functional plan. The Data Governance and Management Specialist will analyze and reengineer business processes, reconcile, troubleshoot, enrich and review incoming and outgoing data to ensure accurate output generated. The incumbent effectively communicates expectations and status to management, business partners and team members in a clear and timely manner.
Create and distribute metrics and/or reporting solutions to internal and third party constituents.
Analyzes and monitors data/reports to ensure quality of and accurate transfer, integration, translation, and reporting of data, reacting promptly to data quality statistics and client inquiries.
Based on both documented processes and experiential analysis, executes moderately complex data fixes, resulting in improved performance or accuracy.
Develops and executes test plans and ensures the quality and accurate delivery/transfer of test and production files.
Performs data normalization, constructs data diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents processes. Assists the business/clients to define data workflows or reporting requirements.
Performs macro-level analyses to identify trending issues across clients, products, integration or transition activities, etc. Collaborates on potential preemptive solutions.

Experience and qualifications required:
5-7 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in Intermediary Distribution or financial services preferred. Experience with data workflows, Transfer Agent and third party data sets preferred. Strong communication and multi-tasking skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through to completion with minimal supervision. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Advanced excel skills.
