Job Description

Corporate Actions - IC1 Responsible for mandatory and voluntary corporate actions custody functions for all organizational accounts. Receives guidance from more experienced staff. With guidance from more senior staff, responsible for processing basic mandatory and voluntary corporate action events (including the daily interpretation, monitoring, scrubbing and notification of corporate action events), processing liability notices, processing and allocating dividend interest payments and processing class action suits. Reconciles, monitors and posts entitlements to client accounts. Responsible for daily and monthly outlier review, research and documentation. Responsible for performing daily reconciliations for cash, security and suspense transactions as well as adhering to established quality control measures and procedures. Responsible for researching and responding to inquiries from internal business groups, depositories, agents, brokers, clients, Investment Managers, sub custodians and/or custodians. Works on multiple systems to perform corporate action processing, including creating and scrubbing announcements, sending client instructions to third parties, and, posting online cash and security transactions. No direct reports. May have people management responsibilities in some geographies. Contributes to the achievement of team goals and objectives.


Responsibilities: 1. Transaction Processing/Resolution
  • Identifies and resolves discrepancies between client’s trade economic details and the client’s counterparty instruction
  • Monitors and resolves any failed trades, cash movements, collateral settlements or corporate actions
  • Works closely with both internal and external clients and brokers to ensure timely and accurate processing of different security types
  • Understands settlement procedures and restrictions for various markets and asset types and acts accordingly
  • Manages daily volume of work adhering to daily deadlines
2. Technology
  • Utilizes proprietary technology and DTCC vendor products to perform daily transactional processes
3. Teamwork
  • Collectively work with team members to ensure daily requirements are met
  • Update team procedures as needed
4. Communications
  • Communicates professionally and timely via email, phone, or in person with internal and external clients and counterparties
5. Client Service
  • Provides superior client service to ensure client satisfaction and reference ability
  • Responds to client inquiries, in a timely and professional manner
  • Meeting client’s standards as indicated in client’s service agreement
6. Risk Mitigation
  • Understands fundamentals of relevant systems and processes
  • Follows procedures and adheres to policies while maintaining a risk adverse mindset
  • Works to understand how specific functions within processing impact other teams in Global Portfolio Services
  • Proactively communicates and escalates potential risks found, errors and issues timely
  • Ensures data privacy and integrity
  • Follows our regulatory protocols and security procedure


Bachelors degree in a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 0-3 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in financial services or corporate actions preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.


Experience / Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 1 - 3 years of industry experience

  • Great organization skills - ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize accordingly and make decisions as required
  • Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure and to provide practical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work across regions and functions, preferably in the financial services industry

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral

    • Ability to formulate the implications of a specific solution across processes, e.g. costs, risk, service
  • Demonstrate understanding of Operations processes and procedures and an ability to learn quickly – knowledge of processes related to Operations or the Financial Services industry would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and effectively to meet time constraints while handling multiple tasks

  • SQL or Coding experience
  • Experience in brokerage processing
