Job Purpose: BNY Mellon is investing heavily in their eFX (electronic FX) offering as it expands its FX client franchise. The FX Sales and Trading technology team is looking for software engineers to join a small globally distributed team. We have a unique opportunity, in London, for a developer with experience of both server-side and front-end development. The developer will work closely with the eFX Trading desk to integrate and extend an externally purchased Trading Aggregator product, implement market data connectors to different trading venues and liquidity providers, and integrate components developed by the eFX Trading desk into the wider technology stack. The developer will primarily focus on server-side development and should be comfortable working on the application front-end as and when required.
QualificationsResponsibilities: • Develop key components of our eFX target state architecture by building new components or enhancing existing one; • Work closely with the eFX trading desk to gather and analyse the requirements, and present solutions; • Integrate eFX desk developed application components and vendor purchased applications; • Manage deliverables across multiple system owners to deliver critical changes to existing systems; • Proactively manage and resolve any risks and issues that arise during project delivery.
Requirements: • We are looking for an individual that can demonstrate sound software engineering principles and have a combination of the following technical skills: o Core Java o *nix scripting o SQL o ReactJS frameworks o Any experience with low latency messaging middleware, e.g., Solace, or having implemented a low latency messaging solution • Prior experience implementing latency sensitive electronic trading applications. Experience developing electronic trade solutions for FX products is a highly desirable; • Experience integrating with financial exchanges using the FIX protocol. Experience of FX ECNs, e.g., Bloomberg, FXall and 360T highly desirable; • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; • Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Experience working directly with a trading desk highly desirable;
