Summary of Responsibilities:
Assists in developing and managing global security and safety programs to meet the physical security needs of BNY Mellon employees, clients, visitors and property. This position is responsible for the management of BNY Mellon’s access control office for the Americas Region encompassing locations throughout North and South America.
Primary Functional Duties:
Manage multiple physical security teams.
Oversee the planning, management and coordination of access control related operations and systems.
Manage the provision, distribution, termination and tracking of all access cards and clearance levels throughout the assigned region.
Manage all access control programming in-line with BNY Mellon standards, policies and industry best practices.
Directs methodology and prioritization in the monitoring and audit of security processes at BNY Mellon facilities for potential deficiencies. Develops and implements process improvements to remediate potential issues
Directs risk assessment analyses to facilitate the review of BNY Mellon locations on a regular basis. Identifies areas where additional research and review is necessary to ensure optimal security risk mitigation.
Develops policies regarding the need to dispatch, add, and/or post guards in response to specific incidents. Ensures security team is prepared to deal with incidents or crises.
Manage and develop training programs that will assist staff and improve the knowledge and skills of others, including identifying areas for enhancement and instructing personnel on access control related topics.
Bachelor’s degree of equivalent combination of education and work experience required. High School diploma/GED; Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in Project Management or Technology Based Systems, or related field.
Minimum of 1 year experience as systems administrator for CCure 9000 or similar security access control systems. Certifications are a plus but not required.
Minimum of 5-7 years prior work experience with prior physical security and/or investigations preferred.
Experience with visitor management systems required, preferably PassagePoint.
Previous security operation center operator experience a plus.
Prior supervisory experience or managerial role required.
Neat appearance with respect to dress and personal grooming is essential; non-smoker strongly desired.
Ability to consistently act in a professional, respectful and courteous manner and to effectively communicate directives to a team of operators.
Availability to commence work with short notice and flexibility in terms of working hours, e.g. ability to work late and/or on weekends if required.
Strong customer service skills required.
