Client Onboarding/Transitions/Conversions - M2

Manages a team across Markets Securities Finance and Foreign Exchange responsible for onboarding clients into the system, opens and closes accounts and handles transitions and conversions to the system. Serves as an advisor to clients or Sales, Client Service and Relationship Management as they onboard/transition/convert to/from products and solutions. Obtains and reviews the appropriate documentation and reference data, and ensures regulatory aspects of AML and KYC are completed prior to opening accounts. Works with the client and / or internal parties around asset events. Supports and represents the team for Audit and regulatory purposes where applicable. Ensures all SLAs are met.

Experience in securities, financial services or client-facing or project management roles preferred.

Responsible for overall success of large, complex transitions/conversions, ensuring client satisfaction through the monitoring of project quality and efficiency as well as the direct client experience. Provides consultative support of complex situations for internal and external clients.

Leads project management activities for the onboarding/transition/conversion such as reporting, planning, issue / risk tracking, scheduling, effort estimation and day-to-day tracking, and other project documentation preparation.

Marshals firm-wide resources (product, technology, marketing, compliance, teams, etc.) to ensure client transition/conversion needs are being addressed, and develops processes to ensure communication and alignment across teams. Ensures activities meet all compliance, legal and regulatory requirements. May facilitate legal negotiation or document review.  Regular review and appraisal of workflows and procedures to provide optimum client experience and appreciation of regulatory, compliance and risk environment.

Multiple direct reports. Provides guidance to less experienced colleagues. Allocates work to and monitors the work quality of others assigned to the client. Leads process improvements based on post-mortem transition analysis. Significant people management responsibilities.

Responsible for providing leadership to the Onboarding team. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Invests in developing talent focused on client service, operational efficiency and control. Serves as a role model to teams.  Provides training and development opportunities to staff and promote succession pipeline.

Ensures work produced meets product/service standards and exceeds quality standards. Analyzes and prepares reporting for management. Drives operational standardization, efficiencies and transformation for the Onboarding of Securities Finance and Foreign Exchange clients. Meet internal policies and procedures and external regulations - across multiple jurisdictions for all products. Develops a shared vision and strategy to optimize team execution and performance. Promotes a culture of process design and challenge to ensure we build processes and teams for the end state for each business and process.  

Ensures and promotes an effective control and risk management culture in support of Corporate and Markets driven risk management and control requirements and initiatives. Oversees the day-to-day escalation of issues, design and direct procedures to ensure delivery of consistent results for Securities Finance and Foreign Exchange onboarding.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with all aspects of the Securities Finance products and be able to interact independently with Credit, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Control Management, Product Management, Technology, Client Service and Relationship Management and Business Heads on the transition process of the relevant product.


Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 5-7 years of total work experience and at least 0-1 years of management experience preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business. Experience in securities, financial services or client-facing or project management roles preferred.
