Clearing, Markets & Issuer Services Technology (CMIST) is responsible for application development and support for more than 350 critical business systems including Repo Edge (collateral management), Enterprise Payment Hub (multi-currency payment processing), and Broker Dealer Clearance (securities clearing).
Treasury Services Technology (TST) within CMIST leads the development and maintenance of state-of-the-art technology solutions for the Treasury Services business. TST is aligned with the business into five sub-segments including: Global Payments, Information & Liquidity, Payments and Receivables, Enterprise Financial Messaging (EFM) and Trade Services. Critical, highly visible opportunity for a talented developer with strong product sensibilities, innovation and lead mindset / capabilities to drive the design of new platform for Enterprise Financial Messaging under Treasury Services.
This global team is responsible for financial messaging technology products and platforms. As part of overall EFM Resiliency program, EMX Platform is built and some of the business applications are migrated to this platform to reduce risk and take advantage of improved resiliency. EMX is built with Spring Integration, MQ, Kafka, ELK, Hazel cast, Angular, Container based, Micro Service with multi-lane Architecture with resiliency, self-healing, test automations and operational toolsets.
This position will help the team to have a strong lead and innovator to help with development of platform to next level and help 80+ business applications to migrate to this new platform and technology. The successful applicant will take ownership in defining the architecture strategy, toolset, and delivery of major components of this platform and the hundreds of applications leveraging this. This is powered by the BNY Mellon digital ecosystem, developed in a highly disciplined, agile model with a focus on partnership and co-development in a vibrant internal open source community.
You will be able to positively impact the overall experience and productivity of the platform users, comprising of developers, business users and customers.
Principal Architect, Appl Development->> Designs technical infrastructure for applications and assists in defining application tools. Develops the applications architecture and blueprints which reflect business logic of the section or division. Defines application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools. Participates in the evaluation and implementation of vendor application software and tools. Provides technical guidance to cross-functional, cross-platform application development teams. Consults on integration and conversion activities, experiences and considerations. Acts as subject matter expert, as needed.Participates in mapping the technology-independent applications architecture to the chosen technology platform. Conducts reviews and analyses organizational needs to make recommendations regarding the development and implementation of applications. Stays abreast of the latest technology infrastructure and processes in the industry and marketplace. Makes recommendations to use innovative, creative approaches as appropriate to meet client needs. Helps resolve high-impact, moderately complex system problems affecting multiple applications or across multiple platforms using the appropriate debugging tools and techniques such as probes, animators, traces, sniffers and dumps.Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives.
Ideal candidate will be experienced, hands on developer, with innovative thinking and have demonstrable exposure to some or all of the following:
- Required Skills – Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Integration, REST API, Oracle, ELK, MQ, Kafka, Maven
- Experience in Angular JS would be beneficial.
- Experience in Test Driven Development
- Exposure to latest tech stack like Docker would be nice to have but isn’t mandatory
- Agile / Scrum - continuous integration / delivery with experience working with multiple teams and evolving technology
- A passion for quality in all aspects of the software they produce and supervise and a desire to teach and lead others
