Collaborates with senior management to ensure that the appropriate corporate tax policies, methods, standards, processes, reporting and training are developed, applied and understood by impacted stakeholders. Broad and comprehensive knowledge of corporate tax processes and in-depth knowledge of tax support requirements within a particular business/business partner area. Serves as a key quantitative resource to the head of corporate risk and provides leadership to the group on approved process standards and agreed service levels. Oversees the management of all activities related to the development, coordination and implementation of the overall corporate tax planning, tax compliance, tax accounting and tax law analysis for both domestic and foreign taxes. Interacts frequently with front office senior management and other business areas to provide inputs on issues related to business planning, business strategies, cash flow and earnings of the Bank. Identifies, designs, and implements process improvements for effective tax forecasting/reporting/planning. Researches tax aspects of new products and services and supports the corporate tax strategy on tax impacts of transactions. Coordinates, manages, and negotiates tax audits performed by various tax authorities and serves as the point of contact with the IRS and state auditors and facilitates dispute resolutions. No direct reports. Oversees, advises and guides more experienced Corporate Tax roles and directs their work. Responsibilities are primarily specialized to address the corporate tax needs for major global initiatives, platinum clients, or material events. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.
Candidates should be proficient in all aspects of income tax accounting. Successful candidate will have senior responsibility for assembling, maintaining and analyzing domestic and international tax information used in the preparation of various financial statements, regulatory reports and tax returns. Successful candidate will be required to provide functional guidance to subordinates and be responsible for developing and maintaining documentation for internal and external audits. Successful candidate will lead various aspects of quarterly tax provision process.
Bachelor s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA, CPA, and/or MST is preferred. Successful candidate will have extensive tax and accounting knowledge obtained through 7-10 years of experience with a large CPA firm or corporate tax department and the ability to present research results to Senior Management. Experience using OneSource tax software is preferred. 12-15 years of work experience in market risk preferred. Experience in tax compliance or accounting preferred
