Senior Group Manager, Sourcing

Job Description

Leads a team of category and commodity sourcing leads responsible for all needs specific to category and commodity sourcing. Leads professional staff indirectly through more junior managers. Contributes to the development and oversees the implementation of the sourcing strategy, serves as the primary contact and is responsible for negotiation outcomes for all categories and commodities. Works closely with the Chief Procurement Officer to develop the global sourcing strategy and manage global sourcing activities. Takes ownership of and is responsible for global sourcing performance. Oversees the implementation of all category and commodity sourcing strategies. Ensures all sourcing methodologies are in alignment with the regional and global sourcing strategies. Is responsible for ensuring adherence to sourcing/governance policies. Maintains broad knowledge of all category and commodity sourcing needs specific to different regions and serves as the sourcing point of contact. Is accountable for outcomes resulting from high dollar and/or high risk sourcing negotiations. Approves commodity savings metrics and supplier consolidation and cost reduction recommendations from commodity managers. Leads sourcing category leads in conducting industry, emerging market, supplier and sourcing methodology research in order to inform and complete supplier selection. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops sourcing category leads, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to effectively lead their teams. Responsible for the performance management processes for category sourcing managers. Leads a team of category and commodity sourcing leads responsible for all needs specific to category and commodity sourcing. Responsible for the achievement of global goals and objectives, performance management and supervision of sourcing category managers. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.  


Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Business degree preferred. Advanced degree preferred. 12-15 years of total work experience, with 3-5 years of management experience, preferred. Demonstrated experience managing and leading large, complex projects, extensive knowledge and understanding of procurement and sourcing processes and practices preferred. Demonstrated experience negotiating successful results, managing spend preferred.
