Sr. Computer Operations Analyst - Mainframe Support

TSG is building next generation scalable, efficient data center as a service using the latest innovation infrastructure. Building on top of the cloud deployments in BNY Mellon, we are aggressively automating and bridging the green field cloud with the existing virtual computing environments.

 

The Senior Computer Operations Analyst will monitor and manage BNY Mellon’s large Mainframe computer environment utilizing tools like SYSVIEW and interface with clients relating to all issues.   For incident and change management tasks, this role will be responsible for utilizing Service Now while supporting changes requested by Engineering. This role is critical to BNY Mellon, as almost 50% of the companies processing is done on ZOS mainframes, and a large portion of revenue is generated from this technology.  This team supports this function 24 x 7, and team members are dispersed globally.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor IBM Z14 Mainframes.

  • Interface with clients for troubleshooting of incidents.

  • Utilize mainframe software like CICS, IMS and DB2.

  • Apply system changes as requested by Engineering.

 

Senior Computer Operations Analyst->> Ensures IT standards for hardware and software change requests are met by monitoring, testing, and evaluating security risks prior to production. Addresses all system changes occurring in the BNY Mellon ITS environment. Reviews, coordinates, approves, and follows up on any failures that occurred. Addresses all problems occurring in ITS environment by opening, updating and tracking problems to their conclusion. Participates in weekly problem and change meetings to review the status of both problems and changes for the past week and plans for the upcoming week. Develops and maintains processing standards and procedures. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience is required.

  • Two to four (2-4) years of related experience is required.

  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

  • Understanding of ZOS.

  • Experience with CICS and DB2.

  • Experience with Incident Resolution software.

  • Understanding of JES2.

  • Ability to IPL Mainframes.

  • Must be a team player

  • Flexibility to work weekends.

  • Experience with MQ and IMS is preferred.

  • Experience with SYSVIEW is preferred.

  • Experience with TSO and JCL is preferred.
