Data and Project Manager, Risk Modeling and Analytics

Job Description

This position is responsible for managing two primary areas: 1) The development, enhancement, and execution of analyses to support the Risk organization’s Stress Testing program, including working with the Economic Forecasting Group to ensure scenario delivery for stress testing exercise or CECL/IFRS9, and 2) General program management to ensure that the Risk Modeling and Analytics Group has clearly identified goals and that objectives (both internally and from regulators) are being achieved across different programs. In this position, the candidate will also be responsible for the management of a team of three PMO/data analysts. Day-to-day tasks in support of the two objective areas cited above will include tracking of project statuses across the Risk Modeling and Analytics Group; planning, generating timelines for, and guiding the execution of scheduled or ad-hoc stress tests for the Risk organization; communicating across broad groups of stakeholders (internal, as well as external) to ensure successful completion of the group’s objectives and to communicate project results; and overseeing the documentation, collection, verification, and distribution of macroeconomic scenario data distributed by the department’s Economic Forecasting Group. In addition, the candidate will support the administrative function of the Risk Modeling and Analytics group which has a significant number of modelers across 4 different locations and more than 100 models in the inventory.  Success in the position will require effective cross-functional coordination to design and execute analyses and meet defined objectives.  Candidate will be expected to be thoughtful and seek ways to improve existing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. The output that this position will oversee will be periodically presented to senior management as a key input to risk management decision making. Work must adhere to internal consistency and quality standards, and follow the guidance of corporate policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 7-10 years of total work experience with at least 1-3 years in management preferred. Securities or financial services experience preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
