Lead Manager, Business Intelliegence, Data Management & Advanced Analytics

Job Description

Leads a small to moderate sized team of business intelligence and data managment professionals who compile, synthesize and report on the business internal and external sourced data. Oversees the management, mining and development of databases,  data feeds, automated data workdflows,  and the development of dashboard visualizations and other business intelligence / analytics reporting.Manages day-to-day business intelligence activities for themselved and direct reports, ensuring quality and accuracy of all work produced. Provides input into possible process changes to increase efficiencies and improve processes, dashboards and analytics products. May manage vendor relationships and work to ensure accuracy of data delivered or recieved.Oversees the implementation of new data related technology enhancements. Ensures business requirements are met and BI platforms maintained according to established precedures.  Ensures staff are in compliance with the Bank's standards and best practices. Facilitates the analysis of client and business needs and manages related documentation. Guides the team's production of management reporting and analyses. Ensures the quality of day-to-day services provided is in line with service level agreements in place for clients or data vendors.   Evaluates and tests new value adding data products or technologies  to support business objectives.Establishes operating procedures for the unit and ensures that the procedures align with the goals and objectives for the area.Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages a smal lto moderate-sized team of staff.  Responsible for the supervision of team members and coordination of resources. 


Requirements: 


Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 

Advanced/graduate degree preferred.5-7 years of total work experience with at least 0-1 years in management preferred.  

Experience in investment management, securities or financial services preferred.

Qualifications

Directs the business intelligence & data managment strategy for a large area or channel through either subordinate managers or a highly skilled moderate to large sized team of BI & DM professionals who prepare data sets, build automated data workflows, dashboard visualizations or other market intelligence & analytics for internal or external clients.Manages the Business Intelligence & Data Management activities for assigned area. Directs Business intelligence strategy to support business objectives. Provides insights and ideas for improving processes. Ensures staff have all required resources to execute their assigned activities. Manages data and software vendor relationships to facilitate seamless access and working to resolve issues as they arise. Ensures system costs are understood and contracts are managed appropriately. Oversees the implementation of new data or technology enhancements, ensuring business requirements are executed as expected. Ensures the continuity and functionality of BI platforms and that staff and more junior managers are in compliance with the Bank's standards and best practices. .Researches, develops and establishes methodologies, protocols and processes to facilitate or improve daily operations. Analyzes emerging trends and technologies, and evaluates if and how to incorporate into existing operations. Evaluates new value adding data products to support business objectives.Establishes operating procedures for assigned units and ensures that the procedures align with the goals and objectives for the broader business. Liaises with peer leaders on product, technology, client service or other teams to ensure appropriate integration of activities and required hand-offs.Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Onboards new hires. Completes performance management processes and handles staff performance reviews. Manages a team or multiple teams of professionals, including coaching, performance management and resource allocation. Responsible for the supervision of staff and coordination of resources; sets daily priorities to meet operational objectives. Bachelor s degree in a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.7-10 years of total work experience with at least 1-3 years in management preferred. Experience in investment management, securities or financial services preferred.
